Lucifer

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth. The Earth was without form, and Darkness was on the face of the deep.

Though the Big Man upstairs soon said “Let there be Light,” Darkness still remained and soon found itself in embedded in Lucifer, one of God’s closest confidants.

This Darkness soon boiled over and caused Lucifer to revolt against God and his Angels, a dispute that resulted in the Eternal War.

As the tale goes, Lucifer was bested and exiled from Heaven. With God himself too ashamed to partake in Lucifer’s sentencing, the Archangel Michael sent Lucifer and his fellow rebels plunging into a fiery pit beneath the Earth.

Once a chosen Son of Heaven, Lucifer’s exile and Fall left him hideously scarred. Embarassed of his looks, the Fallen conjured new beings called demons to forge him a facemask using the metals fished out of the river Acheron.

Perpetually on fire, Lucifer’s fiery mask serves as a constant (and painful) reminder of his Fall From Grace.
