Raised by Bruce and Janice McCoy in the American Midwest, Rich McCoy was the sole survivor of an incident in his youth that left four of his friends — including his brother — dead.
The accident woke a dormant power within Richard that suddenly made him invincible, turning him into a demigod. Growing up in rural Iowa, Legend easily dealt with all petty criminals that dared to upset the status quo.
Shortly after he left home to study at Middle State University, Richard met a whole host of people who’d be involved with him for years to come.
Arriving at college, he met Andrea Castillo, an on-again, off-again fling. Years after the two fell out once and for all, it would be revealed that Castillo was Miss Fate, a mainstay in Legend’s rogue’s gallery.
Then there was Rich’s roommate — Steele Sawyer, the man who’d soon become known as the superhero Billet.
Years later, the world underwent a change that saw a drastic increase in the population of powered people. Because of a sudden abundance of superheroes and villains alike, Legend and Billet helped usher in a new Age of Heroes by forming Legend’s Legion, becoming the definitive group to protect Earth from all major threats
